       In my quest to eliminate dependencies on centralized systems from my life I started playing with using git and git alone to manage my code, both locally and on a repository server.  I was surprised to find that almost everything I used (and everything I *needed*) on Github, Gitlab, etc. could be reproduced using just git.

       The only downside is visibility, and I think I have a safe solution for that in making those old services just another remote. That way my work is safe on my server but still available to others.
