in toy story three, mr. potato head's eyes, mouth, etc. are put into a tortilla, and mr. potato head takes control of that tortilla. this tells us two important things:- mr. potato head's consciousness is a hivemind of his various parts. (this is further demonstrated when mrs. potato head leaves her eye home and can still see through it.)- the definition of what is and is not a "toy" is not confined solely to items sold as toys. mr. tortilla head is not an existing toy, yet it became one when the limbs were inserted.with this framework in mind, allow me to pose the following:- if i put potato head parts into a corpse, would mr. potato head take control of the body?- if so, what would happen if you were to do the same to a living person? would the consciousnesses fight for control? would mr. potato head overwrite the existing person? would the person "deactivate" until mr. potato head left? would they merge?- mr. potato head has no flexible joints. he moves by hopping with no internal or external force. if i were to push potato head parts into the ground, surely the earth itself would become possessed by mr. potato head, and surely it would be capable of movement by hopping.

a lego man is a toy. are lego bricks toys? they're sold as such. is a lego house a single consciousness, or an agglomeration of the consciousnesses of the lego bricks? if it's a single consciousness, what happens if the house is deconstructed and rebuilt into something else?what happens if i swallow potato head parts? do my organs become conscious, or do i? if i grind the parts into powder, do they retain consciousness? have i just created dust that i can sprinkle on anything to transplant mr. potato head's consciousness into it?

@lynnesbian well, if you look into the lore 🤓 ... in the first film the villan, Sid, makes weird Frankenstein toys out of his and his sister's toys. those new toys, while being made up of several constituent toys, seem to have a single consciousness. so I'd imagine that yes when you break them apart a new consciousness is made and when they come together they're all a single consciousness

@lynnesbian i think he carries what he's plugged into - the plastic that makes up his parts are where his consciousness is. his arms and legs move and feel pain, but not the potato.so if you put PH on Sid, the kid would still be in control of his body, but PH would be planted inside him. He could probably walk Sid's sleeping body around via his plastic legs. You might be like "but they're so small", but like, it's not like he has muscles to begin with.
