Thanks @ChrisWere! You're my first follower. I'm a Linux tinkerer and hobbyist. I have followed you on youtube for awhile, and have enjoyed your content there. My latest goto guy is @alecaddd. I have completed two of his tutorial series on WordPress, and have applied the knowledge gained there to improve my own WordPress blog.Anyhow, this is my first day on Mastodon, and already I am finding that I might should have joined a smaller instance than mastodon.social. Any thoughts on that? 🤔

@steeperthandeep @ChrisWere I honestly still don't really understand pros and cons of different instances, but whatever 😅 I'd recommend to stick to a bigger instance as smaller ones tend to get shut down or not receive updates or decent support.

@alecaddd @steeperthandeep Welcome aboard! The instance decision is a tough one, because it's all down to personal preference and what works for you. Different instances have a slightly different perspectives on the Fediverse. My experience here is rather Linux/tech centric because I chose LinuxRocks.online where as ms.social is a more general instance.Linux Rocks is a fun place, but if you're happy where you are, then you can still follow us just as easily.
