I've updated my article on #Google killing the #openWeb https://wok.oblomov.eu/tecnologia/google-killing-open-web/ with some additional moments I had forgotten or didn't know about (thanks to the people who pointed those out to me), and a few additional remarks in an afterword.I also rediscovered how much of this I had actually predicted in 2013, when classic Opera died.

BTW @doriantaylor would it be OK if I put a properly-attributed copy of your first comment to the XSLT removal proposal from Github? It's really powerful and I'd prefer it if people could read it without having to get there (are GH issues even accessible without a GH account these days?)

This is apparently my life now. I've updated the article AGAINhttps://wok.oblomov.eu/tecnologia/google-killing-open-web/Added a mention #ManifestV3 and how it might (now or a future change) affect the development of extensions to compensate for the removal of native support for #XSLT .And since I've apparently hit the news, I've prepared three canned responses for the most frequent objections. One of the nice things about writing long, detailed posts, including references and links to other related posts is that when people start sealioning you can tell in no more than a couple of comments that they haven't actually taken the time to ingest the articles and relevant references, so they aren't worth responding to.

@NiwlCraft I don't have recent news about it, but I know it has had issues in the past too. I have posts in my timeline from around September with people noticing it going offline, and then online again after a couple of days. Don't know about right now though. If I try to access it from browser, the about page loads but e.g. in the profile directory the headbars don't load. @eishiya @jsstaedtler I think it could work. Since the thumbnails don't have a consistent width, but they do have a consistent height, maybe the icons could be stacked vertically on e.g. the right side of the thumbnail instead of horizontally along the bottom?It may also be worth considering placing them at fixed positions along the border, so that e.g. where the 18+ icon is found does not depend on whether there's variants or not.

@david interesting: I got a C2 too but at 81% over native speaker, despite not being a native speaker, but ironically I think my native language being a romance language actually helped with some of the words. OTOH, it does say that I scored above 99.9% of non-native speakers so who knows.
