       I've updated my article on #Google killing the #openWeb https://wok.oblomov.eu/tecnologia/google-killing-open-web/ with some additional moments I had forgotten or didn't know about (thanks to the people who pointed those out to me), and a few additional remarks in an afterword.I also rediscovered how much of this I had actually predicted in 2013, when classic Opera died.

       BTW @doriantaylor would it be OK if I put a properly-attributed copy of your first comment to the XSLT removal proposal from Github? It's really powerful and I'd prefer it if people could read it without having to get there (are GH issues even accessible without a GH account these days?)

       One more update, with a mention of how the renaming of the Google chatbot from Bard to #Gemini is now shadowing the #GeminiProtocol.I've also added a #nameAndShame section gather with the names of the (known) #Google engineers responsible for the actions through the company is steamrolling the #openWeb This is public information, BTW, so don't even bother asking me to take it down. 🖕 https://wok.oblomov.eu/tecnologia/google-killing-open-web/Attached also a cutesy image just for them.#tuttoInMedicine

       This is apparently my life now. I've updated the article AGAINhttps://wok.oblomov.eu/tecnologia/google-killing-open-web/Added a mention #ManifestV3 and how it might (now or a future change) affect the development of extensions to compensate for the removal of native support for #XSLT .And since I've apparently hit the news, I've prepared three canned responses for the most frequent objections. In particular, if you're OK with this change because “XML sucks”, YOU ARE #MissingThePoint#Google #WHATWG #openWeb #indieWeb
