@dansup why change yourself if it's locally appropriate? Being aware of cultural appropriation is important, but it should not result in false self censorship @dumpsterqueer

@dansup @dumpsterqueer The English language is a vast exercise in cultural appropriation. Where 'cultural appropriation' is a thing of wonder, to be celebrated. Y'all is just an idea stolen from Norse.

@dansup fuck whoever is targeting you.The Alberta we currently have is not the Alberta we both grew up in and it won't be the Alberta we live in past the next election.I have many thoughts here but don't fit in 500 characters. You're doing incredible work to enhance the fediverse and they just want a piece of the pie.Like someone else said, "code up or shut up."

@dansup @dumpsterqueer As someone who says "y'all", it seems like such an organic part of the English language, it's very strange to hear someone say it can even be "Cultural Appropriation". Sure, we use it more in the southern US, but it's language, a contraction of "You All", not like, a big Texas buckle, boots, and stetson. Even then, if someone wore those, I'd consider it a homage to how silly us Texans are until they made some rude joke with it.
