Every now and again I get a reminder of how crucial my coping strategies for #ADHD are. I wear a bite guard at night - every night for ~10 years. I brush my teeth, put in my guard.Every morning, the icky feeling of the bite guard remind me to get up and brush my teeth. That is my reminder to take my meds.Last night I brushed my teeth standing in a different position. From that position, I couldn't see my bite guard case in the bathroom cabinet. So I didn't put in my bite guard. 1/

This morning I woke up, and was already dressed and nomming on some stashed chocolates (no judgement pse) when I finally remembered to brush my teeth. Thank goodness - because that made me open the cabinet which made me see my bite guard, which reminded me to take my meds. Standing 50cm to the right of my usual place last night literally depressed ~10 years of self care conditioning. Which, if I had not woken up too early this morning, I would not have corrected.2/n

@GinevraCat Depending on my mood, I either laugh or curse each time someone mentions "21 day to form a habit".
