As I noted in previous post, I was in hospital. [1]
Doctors at the hospital prescribed lot of russian medicine ranging
from nearly homeopathic tinctures to official medicine from their
local essential medicines list. [2]
Since treatment and recovery medication methods were not introduced
suddenly here, it's no surprise. But there's where it's getting weird.
I'm not pharmacologists mafia insider so I lack meaningful information
about segregation of their preparations. But to some degree (like
metamizole and diphenhydramine) it's just outdated stuff.
By the way metamizole with diphenhydramine here is dominating
injection for high temperature treatment or as painkiller.
So, like these two there are few more compounds on local use, which
turned my interest.
### Semax [3]
Which is prescribed for head injuries. Man in my room in hospital was
prescribed one, but he couldn't compare it to e.g. piracetam (also
widely used) or at least glycine (read - placebo). And I didn't try it
on myself, and nowadays don't consider such extensive activity safe
anymore, because general precautions are not obvious for every
particular use case.
Well, this one actually first caught my interest. Never thought of
peptide mentat in your soylent?
### Acyzol [4]
This one's usage is not know to me, but there's .ru wiki article and
some obscure references. But not much pubmed info. I'm still curious
because of target application (carbon monoxide poisoning prevention).
### Ipidacrine [5]
Which I was prescribed for recovery of compressed nerves after spine
surgery parallel to vitamin injections (we had good laugh because of
assisting compound in Merck's Neurobion being potassium cyanide).
There's pubmed info, but again - only local sources.
Today in local hospital I was prescribed by doctor in orthodox kerchief
with chondroitin injections. Sure.
Aside of listed compounds, I think googling history of particular
medications may clear contemporary state of things (where it's not
stated in e.g. wikipedia article), but tendency looks not only
like simple development stagnation (piracetam, metamizole, etc.) but
substitution with healing icons and prayers.
