       @mgorny I see this a lot too, and it is indeed very overwhelming. But I don't think "it is over".I believe many people in FOSS are not here for ideological reasons (the sharing of knowledge and solutions, the community) but either as a job or a tool (for example to get a job).But it is hard (impossible?) to tell the difference from the outside so it looks like so many people are abandoning their beliefs but I don't think that is accurate.This means those of us that refuse LLMs (in FOSS or anywhere) are a reminder that those values do exist, and when they do they are strong and healthy.I think LLMs will largely pass (but not disappear) and so our refusal actions are important, no matter how small.Aside from the practical reasons (preserving skills and knowledge) we can show other people that "no LLMs thanks" is an option and we can remind them why.We can show people there are alternatives, especially younger people just starting to explore software communities.I know this is a lot of hope and guessing, but I hope it can bring some comfort in times you need it.At the very least you are not alone.
