       John Bradley, the author of xv, has died. The program was one of the early versatile image viewers for X11 on UNIX like systems, and no Linux distro in the 1990s was complete without it.        @vwestlife I think the Cyrix and IBM CPUs were underrated. Yes, FPU performance was weaker than their Pentium counterparts, but they were much more affordable and integer performance was much better. I had the 6x86 and later the MX or MII variants. They were cheap enough that I could afford them as a highschool student. They were also quite quick under Linux, helping with constant kernel recompiling. :)
