Update: Sold my Macbook, and I'm currently returning the SATA SSD and Magsafe charger I got for it :fox_laugh_sweat:I've written about it in a blogpost (that I will release soon), but in short, it just was too slow for modern macOS, along with it plus its SSD and charger costing almost as much as the Macbook Air 11-inch I actually wanted (I like smol laptop :neofox_smol:). Kinda makes me wanna try out Elementary OS, though. After getting in the groove of macOS with that laptop and liking it, I've gotten interested in trying out something similar in my desktop. Idk why, but I wanna get the ROG Flow gaming tablet - It's certainly way too much money for me right now at almost $2000, but I kinda miss the flexibility of PC tablets with how much awesome desktop software there is, plus it supports a stylus for 2D art and is powerful enough for professional-level 3D art :fox_laugh_sweat:

@sun@shitposter.world Part of me thinks that Fedi would have a much more diverse userbase without Bluskey, but then again, before Bluskey went public and thus hit it big, Fedi still wasn't really growing. It was hyped up for a few months when Twitter was bought out, but most others either hated how confusingly Fedi advocates talked about the platform (essentially a Twitter-lite-Youtube-Discord-Instagram hybrid abomination that has 500 completely identical versions of itself but each version may or may not be run by insufferable nerds) or disliked how little the community offers once they most likely just hopped on a large/midsize server that didn't fry itself from nontroversies (which I actually feel isn't the fault of Fedi's design as small platforms in general are kinda boring and have wannabe hippies). Overall, Fedi still works fine for me, but that's really because the alternatives are the same old and bad Twitter and not Twitter but ran by some of the same untalented shitscripters behind Twitter, while this decentralized network is janky and nerdy but held its shit together for almost two decades. For others, though, they'll still join in Fedi much later on, but it'll be because of the actually serious instance admins who don't shit away their instances after two weeks and the actually serious devs who offer something better than Titkok/Youtube but it sucks. :drgn_think:

Maybe because it was forced earlier and harder in the US than other countries. :drgn_confused:Anyways, being annoyed at community posts was what made me switch to Youtube’s mobile browser (and then third-party clients), even as unpolished as Google deliberately made it. When the app isn’t even accomplishing its main goal of serving videos, it’s just a worse Instagram or Twitter. :blobcat_googly_shrug:

Ngl, I dunno why my Macbook Air has been feeling good to use even with its seriously anemic 4GB of RAM. I know it still hitches a bit every now and then, and that I mainly use it for portable web browsing and note-taking (aka fairly light), but I thought that 8GB was the new minimum for the longest time. Yet, it's carried along with both that and much heavier multitasking and even Blender 3D modeling. Maybe 4GB is really not enough with the much more bloated Windows 11, tho :drgn_think:

@icedquinn@blob.cat Bluskey seriously would've ended up just like T2/Pebble and Cohost if not for scoring the VC money glitch. Its software has solid ideas and has thr decency to let me opt-out of personalized algorithms but misses the mark (Ex: 300 characters is nothing), and its dev team is literally the same Twitteroid shit-scripters that made their old platform one of the most notorious websites then. It certainly would take multiple miracles from multiple deities for Bluskey to hold itself together once it has to actually monetize, as people also joined for the initial de-shittified experience and "but yuh Elon" is not enough for people to join what is becoming an equally shit platform. Really, whast made Bluskey (almost) work (until now) was that they were at least less fucktrash than Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and more importantly secured much more funding than Gargron, Lain, or Syuilo of Fedi ever could :ablobcat_dancing:
