       mpv and mplayer have controls that let you speed up and slow down thesync speed * of the subtitles as the show is playing.It is mentally challenging for me, but it works.(for some reason I can't reason about if speeding themup makes them come faster or slower.)* I don't know what to call that specifically.

       If my focus was OpenBSD i should probably stick to theother cpu i am guessing?
