       @azonenberg Have you looked at the PCIe speeds using lspci -vvv?  A 'LnkSta' line I think on the device should show you speed and width, like 'LnkSta:Speed 8GT/s, Width x8'

       @azonenberg That's weird isn't it to effect multiple machines; I wonder if that was flagging AER retries, you should be able to read them under /sys/bus/pci/devices/..devicenumber/aer_dev*

       @azonenberg Any idea what the big square structure at -400nm/-400nm is?  It's all made of smaller squares with a contact? in the middle of each smaller square all connected to their neighbours.

       @azonenberg Hmm I've got a Asus Qualcomm Snapdragon X based laptop; 16GB of RAM and NVMe disc and reasonable GPU; I an give it a go.  It's currently running debian/sid.  There are some (Lenovo?) with 64GB RAM on.

       @azonenberg I think I've just run the same test; I see Filter_EyePattern.cpp deltaHitRate < 0.001  with expansion: 1.0f < 0.001, but I also see/home/dg/git/scopehal-apps/tests/Primitives/EdgeDetection.cpp:98: FAILED:  REQUIRE( gpulen == edges.size() )with expansion:  6744170 (0x66e86a) == 10049508 (0x9957e4)

       @cks I've run 'terminator' 'mate-terminal' and 'xfce4-terminal' - they're all pretty light, will all run on X, seem to do unicode but I'm not sure I've tried anything too heavy.

       @wolf480pl @cks Yeh I suspect that's right; the defaults of how they're set up are reasonable to me, and the UI is a good old basic terminal (with some tab options if that's your thing).
