Earlier this week, we went through the speaker submissions for our conference in May.There were multiple submissions from different people from Microsoft to talk up Co-pilot. I've seen that talk before, and it's so tediously boring and full of corporate marketing.Like... Who wants to hear this?

The Toronto Product Management Association is a non-profit and we're trying to keep ticket prices as low as possible to keep the event accessible. Most of the ticket prices goes into the cost of the event.This is going to be so much fun!

Anti-AI technologists only: If and when the AI bubble finally collapses due to financial strain, and LLMs become synonymous with several open-source, open-weight, ethically trained models that run on your modest local hardware, would you use it? This is a world without OpenAI, Anthropic, and those massive AI data centres. Maybe some smaller shops spin up no-code wrapper tools, but nothing like the surveillance capital shit we have today.Basically, if the ethics, ecology, and extractive capitalism bits go away, would you consider working with these tools?#poll

@cks Idk, there's probably at least 15% of users who just want their experience to be better and would be willing to talk to you. I feel like this "customers don't want to talk to us" is a lie perpetuated by sales people so they don't have to worry about the techies mishandling their customers.

Almost at my 3rd fediversary. I was trying to run a part of an election campaign where they only posted events to Instagram, Tiktok and Twitter. Not even to our planning channels. I got a Twitter account to know where and when things were happening, so that, you know, I can mobilize people to actually show up. đź« Twitter was a terrible place, and I refused to get TT or insta. Never saw the appeal of microblogging. @ryancoordinator had been trying to get me to join the fedi for ages. So I thought I'd try out this other thing.Never really left after that. Doubled down here once I decided to stop posting on LinkedIn. So now you get all of my special interests: product, humanity, queer stuff, politics.
