       @IngaLovinde @mcc I'm talking about cram schools that kids go to after regular school, just like Kumon. All the rich parents in the suburbs drive their big SUVs to the front of the school and drop off their kids and then pick them up again. It's for parents who are willing to pay extra to give their kids an "edge"

       @IngaLovinde @mcc I think it's very different - these schools are branding themselves as "Russian math". In the US there's a whole industry dedicated to helping your child get into the most prestigious colleges. It's extremely competitive, and some parents pay tens of thousands of $$$ per year to boost their kid's performance - professional writing tutors, cram schools, college consultants, etc - there's no shortage of ways to separate parents from their money
