this is probably a big reason why i just don't trust cis women. when a cis woman is nice to me, my instinct is always that it's a trap and if i don't remove myself quickly she'll turn it into an attack

with the US now insolvent, i suggest norway should use some of their oil money and simply buy the whole thing. and then, with greenland already being danish, we'd have canada surrounded and could reasonably argue for them to join the nordics too

i think those tests will eventually get scrapped because they'll end up bringing unwanted attention to the fact that phenotypical sex isn't binary. the purpose is to bolster the cisbinary gender norms of only fertile and primarily white women being accepted as "true" women. but ultimately i think the tests will do the opposite, and then the gender fundamentalists won't like it anymore. their whole worldview is self-defeating and they prove it again and again every time they get their way.it's just sad that all the damage they intend to inflict on others will happen first. the world we live in sucks and they're the reason why.

for us trans people, the indirect consequences of the ban will be vast, horrifying and largely downplayed and ignored.the direct consequences are tiny. almost no trans person is directly affected.cis female athletes on the other hand... there is going to be a number of stories about them being hit by this. we're talking about tens of thousands of women who will be tested, which means that before long, there will be hundreds of cases having gotten the public's attention. and none of them will be trans. it'll take years, but ultimately it's going to hurt so many people's national pride and shake their belief in the cisbinary.

also, it's very telling how the people in power forcing these bans into effect are racist pedos, the same people who obsess over impregnating white underage girls. to them, sports is a form of advertisement for eugenics. they aren't really testing for who's cis or trans. for example, they'll go on about "male puberty", but that's not what they're testing. what they're testing for is whether a woman is fertile. and the SRY gene testing is as close to that as they can get politically. for now.

after (nearly) four years of being on fedi under my own name (and before that five years of much less activity under some other name whatever that was about) i am genuinely surprised that it's the best trans online community i've been able to findthere's so much annoying and harmful stuff going on here—but all the other spaces i've tried to exist in have been even worseidk what it is that does it, but maybe it's the kind of loose and async way that connections work? ignoring, blocking, filtering, creating lists, asymmetric following, and also the ability to just make an alt account with overlapping connections? and instance blocking on some software too. and all of it at user-level, without breaking the community, unlike what real user-level blocking would do to a discord server for example.i've decided i like it :akko_fistup:

oh and about that, for like my first year of having a jasmine account i was too scared of hurting others to block people, even if they acted horribly. but it wasn't really until i got over myself and started blocking that fedi turned into this relatively nicer experience

i guess the following won't be relatable to anywhere near everyone, but what made it possible for me to start blocking people in a healthy way, was realising that i'm actually quite insignificant! there's no one on here who NEEDS me in any way that actually matters. i'm just not important enough that i can't block anyone at any time for no good reason at all
