I think it's time to update my #introduction post. It's been a couple years~ :blobfoxlul: Heya, I'm Ruby! Yet another facet that lends to me being a natural toy~ :blobfoxshy: I'm a creative personality and tinkerer at heart with knowledge and experience in several different trades and fields including construction, IT, automotive repair, electrical engineering/PCB rework and refurbishing countless different mechanical and electrical gadgets and devices. Yet the latest skill that I'm developing is #rubbercrafting, which I'll soon be looking into accepting commissions of.Not bad at all for a literal airhead, huh? :blobfoxlul: I'm also known to be a very sweet, loving kitsu-toy that's kind, nurturing, tender and supportive. I did it! It's installed! :blobfoxmeltsob: Finally saw this project through to the end, after months of the LED strips sitting around in the basement. This took a lot of work to install, including some in-situ soldering after the main 24v power wire ripped the copper trace strip on almost every segment. :blobfoxnotlikethis: Now I just need to get HomeAssistant up and running so I can fully control these. Bought a ZigBee dongle when I was first planning this, and now I'll finally be utilizing it. For the DIY smart home nerds out there, what would be a good remote to use with HomeAssistant?

@maddy From what I've gathered, Linus has the stance of "if you're using the LLM as a tool to hand off certain mundane tasks while otherwise coding manually, then it's okay." In order to submit a kernel patch, manual review of the code with a fundamental understanding of what it's doing is a requirement.The problem is when folks are being lazy (or otherwise not skilled/knowledgeable of coding at all) and just outright hands-off make the LLM do *all* the coding for them. That's been the crux of the issue and why repos are flooded with submission tickets with nothing but vibe-coded slop.As folks keep saying, the genie is out of the bottle and LLMs aren't going away. The best we can do is learn how to use said tool effectively without becoming too reliant on it.

@vwestlife I came across a video a while ago mentioning this trend. One point that stood out to me was these sales figures being only for new CD sales and not showing the whole picture, so to speak.They can't track how many used copies of CDs are also being sold, which is very much a big contributor of the comeback of this format as well.

Wow, these new panties are great! They really showcase how worn my old pairs really are, by comparison. :blobfoxlaughsweat: These are Bali Skimp Skamp nylon full briefs, aka granny panties, and I've been wearing an older version of for the past few years now. The new ones have a refined cut that addresses a lot of fitment issues of the old ones. Even brand new, the material is silky soft with lotsa support that even keep my bits tucked away nicely. The waist even stays in place instead of rolling down, which has been an annoyance of the old ones for a while now. Overall, I'm quite happy with these, and I do intend to get more once I have more funds, hehehe~

@baralheia IMO, forking the kernel and letting that ship burn is the realistic move here. The alternative is to try to take over the organizations around linux development from within, but that's never worked for anyone who didn't have an infinite money glitch backing them. The techbros have about 3-5 years of riding out this AI bubble, so they have billions at their disposal. No way of fighting that head-on.Frankly, it'll be easier to fork the kernel and poach the code maintainers who don't want anything to do with the AI nonsense affecting their workflows. Linus himself was saying "if you don't approve, then fork the kernel", so why not do exactly that? That's what he did when he first invented linux after the BS the Unix team was pulling back in the 80s.

@Austin_Dern Ohhhh, gotcha! Thanks for explaining the nuances of to me. That's quite enlightening, and also makes me laugh at how fickle and cantankerous creatures like that can be at times, hehehe~I know foxes can be really moody, too. Sometimes reading a situation wrong and going fearful or lashing out at something benign. I think it comes down to perception and the way the individual creature processes that.

@Austin_Dern Yeah, exactly. It's hard for folks to consider that perspective a lot of the time. I find I can do so, but only after getting a better idea of how these creatures perceive the world.Somehow I'm able to pick up on these nuances of their behaviors, in that way where someone lives long enough with a roommate that they learn their quirks and mannerisms, hehehe~
