       One thing that drives me a bit nuts about Americans is everybody's always suing everybody all of the time.And I mean, it's not YOUR fault - I'm sure your HOA people are absolute dickheads, because HOAs seem to always be run by total dickheads.I don't understand how somebody can want to be in a conflict with their neighbors. And then I don't understand how that conflict can stay in this state of stupid petty rules bickering - like - forever. Nobody ever actually goes over and lights the guy's car on fire.In Europe, people are generally very respectful of their neighbors and try hard to make harmony with each other - and if somebody REALLY over-steps the line, the punishment is pretty brutal.

       Yeah, VAT is 20% so wholesale it's cheaper...It's a little complex because employment taxes are massive, so like 50% of what your boss pays does not reach your pocket... BUUUUT, there's a trillion little subsidies and loopholes and stuff that makes it so for the most part employers are actually getting the money back again...

       One thing I love about France is they really try to make sure all the little corner bakeries and butchers and mom and pop shops are able to stay running. Yeah the government paperwork is fucking insane, but they're trying to do a good deed.
