       @astraleureka Just guessing, but Google’s hardware engineering MO for a long while was “buy the cheapest hardware and flog it to death”. Someone else would have to tell you how true that is nowadays, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve spared the expense of ECC.

       @doombloomart I think some people believe eliminating the bad is more important than any amount of good. I think those people need to take a step back and think about what society looks like when you’re focused on finding the bad in people.

       @dosnostalgic Looks like you can still get some Panasonic KX-P ribbons and Epson still sells dot matrix printers, so probably any of those are good. Personally I just got a new ribbon for my ImageWriter II that works great, but I wouldn’t recommend it as I just had to replace a power module on mine (apparently they tend to cook themselves).
