       Do others of the queer/trans catholic cabal on here desire something more from the church/community?I want something and I don't know if I want a social group or a theology discussion group or a message board for internet schizos.        @mia @shibao I don't think the barrier to normies using irc is the ui anymore I think it's that they don't want to make choices or learn things (like what's a server, which one am I suppose to join, do I need this port option, etc).I think you can get them to download app, enter phone or email, and click a link (or scan a QR code). That's about it.

       @mia @shibao Bluesky had moderate success with the "twitter sucks we're doing our own thing" messaging. My mother in law is on there, anyway. But they heavily compromised on federation to do it, and I think any mainstream app would probably need to do the same.I think a discord clone with an atproto backend (or even just sign-in) would do pretty well.

       @scathach There's nothing wrong with the tech but motorcycle manufacturers don't understand the market created by illegally powerful ebikes.Either the battery is too small or the motor is too big. Or it's at the wrong pricepoint.Like why the fuck is the kawasaki z-E1 $7k for a 5kw motor with a 40 mile range? Who the fuck is buying that?

       @scathach Ebike companies are selling bikes with a 10kw motor and an 80 mile range for $4.5k. It's not regulatory fees either because that thing has a VIN too.They genuinely just have no idea what the market wants. They're trying to take a bike, swap the ICE engine for an electric motor and sell it.The only people who want that are people who want super fast high-end bikes, which is market already captured by Lightning and Energica.Established brands are just making huge product blunders.
