@wyatt @freya @SRAZKVT i mean .. honestly this kinda just solves all the issues, it prevents boot sector viruses (since they don't have the key you personally added-) but your also not relying on a single keyset from microsoft, where they basically get to be a cop and police everything you do.... that said, boot sector viruses are a pretty unlikely to run into to begin with tbh

@SRAZKVT @wyatt @freya yes considering that i would say that does kinda make secure boot an anti-feature, that exists mostly to let MS control what you run (not to mention you have to have certain requirements to even "count" for secure boot, and shit-) .. tbh the question was asked what benefit it provides, and id say it provides the one thing they claim its meant too, but without giving the convenient power creep to MS that comes with it, i would agree that the way it is currently implemented is bad

@mjdxp even if it was a 'completley private' system where it really is all done locally or some shit and whatever the fuck id still be very opposed to it ^its discriminatory towards anyone whom the state does not affirm the identity or or 'bless' the existence of; and makes your ability to do anything depend on a nation states approval.(like e.g alters but also other people too- like e.g homeless and children and also often trans people)also the linux foundataion is quietly trying to make a shit for this and force everyone who contributes to the kernel to do it .. and no ones talking about it, >_>

@quephird is it bad that i just know that mbsrtowcs, wcstold, and wcsoll are c standard functions .. i also kind of know what they all do just by the names without needing to look it up ..... only one i had to check was strxfrm which .. theres a c standard function to do that? .. wtf is that name .. when do you even need to do that, cant imagine many cases thats actually useful uh ...
