       I was in a game store ~2007 and someone figured out who I was and rushed up to me and told me how seen they felt about my treatment of gender in Shock:Social Science Fiction.You can’t make art based on what people tell you because most of the time, they don’t tell you anything or aren’t the audience. You just make it, then set it free.But you create it to say something, and you don’t know you’ve said it unless someone tells you what they got from it.Tell artists you like their work.

       @gardiner_bryant @zahntronI’ve been banging my head against Affinity, which has had a huge amount of community work done on it by volunteers, but I still can’t get running.I need video editing, but I do it infrequently enough that I kinda wind up relearning Final Cut each time anyway.But I can’t make books in Linux, and that’s a nonstarter.And man, do I want it to start.

       @IngaLovinde @futurebird @petealexharrisI’m very skeptical that they’ll be useless (see:this thread), and I think the market will flood with them. They might no longer be cutting edge, but they’ll sure be good.There will be practical concerns in getting them to work, and little commercial interest in it, but my guess is that they’ll become the heart of DIY machines.I have an obsolete bitcoin miner I got to run as to just this experiment, and I’m following others’ successes.
