I have 458 transfem subs.(Seriously though, it takes zero riz to end up sitting on top of a bunch of them, it’s actually wild!)

       This weekend we visited an old friend of mine in Germany, near Düsseldorf; he, his (three year old) daughter, and me[1] went to the Japanese Garden at around Sunday noon and while the weather wasn’t as great as it could have been and while they didn’t have as many Sakura trees as I had hoped for, there were nice moment. 😊[1] His wife was happy to get a bit of break from their daughter, and Senna somehow woke up with a foot that hurt when walking; and she was also happy to have a break from the child. ​:blobcat_giggle:​

       So, this person on linked in contacted me and asked if I can have a look at their cryptographic protocol for a “sanity check” at a fixed price of 500€.So, to any freelancers out there, how many hours of work would 500 roughly equate to? (My gut feeling is really not much, given that this is before taxes and at the end of the highly qualified work; then again, I don’t have a job right now and wouldn’t mind some money…)The thing is, it easily takes a full day to understand such a protocol, especially if I have to read up on related topics, and I believe that the rate that TU/e charged industry when I was a PhD candidate (as opposed to finished PhD), might have been something like 100€ per hour or more…

       Okay, it looks like I will actually get that job offer in Luxemburg and they were willing to increase the gross starting salary (I hinted at 15K more, they now offered 5K more, indicating that what I indicated was definitely outside the budget, which I guess is fair, there was definitely a negotiation buffer in there).Technically they have not made an offer yet, but they might do so today and I was explicitly their number 1 candidate…
