       @libreoffice This has been the truth in multiple countries for some time, including in Portugal, but the governments don't always follow their own mandates for themselves.        @EUCommission you and national governments are making us use those closed boxes. Don't force us to use apps only available on those stores, or on any particular store. That will allow us to choose systems that devices were we're not locked into them.Make it mandatory that public services use only open APIs, open data, and standards for protocols and file formats, promote the creation and adoption of software that uses those things.

       @EUCommission so stop promoting and protecting the monopolies that make people discard those devices early in their life. Stop making and funding apps for the google and apple systems, create rules that demand public services to be truly software vendor and distributors neutral.

       @thelinuxEXP note:UT does support fingerprint readers, maybe not on that device, but the OS itself supports using that type of sensor, and I have had multiple devices were it works fine.There is an adblocker on the Open Store

       @thelinuxEXP I don't agree. I think both things should exist. Sometimes OS distros protect users from certain developer errors/limitations, and vice-versa.Example for many years Debian couldn't distribute Firefox, it even created their own fork to distribute as part of the OS, it also does their own build witch has different build options than the official build, and it does it to protect users.

       @fribbledom most consent forms are illegal, because they don't allow for informed consent (both due to the language they use to not be simple enough and because they are too big), and don't allow to refuse all with the same simplicity they allow to accept.
