       Wells Fargo sent me a new ATM card that is totally blank on the front. They call it a "clean front design." Who asked for this? It's incredibly stupid for all sorts of reasons. Families can't tell one card from another unless they flip it over, and if you drop it, people will think it's a dummy card and discard it. I called customer service to complain, and they said "try not to lose it". I'm going to use my P-Touch to add a label with my name on the front, but I shouldn't have to do that.

       @vwestlife Additionally, having the card number on the front and the CVC number on the back was meant as a minor security feature. Among other things, it makes it so that a camera can't capture all the info from one angle and someone attempting to flash memorize the contents (say a waiter at a restaurant) can't do so without flipping the card over unnecessarily in front of a hopefully observant customer.

       @vwestlife Possibly a cost reduction? When I dirst did my bank account (remember I'm a young whipper snapper), my temporary card still had the embossed digits, but all subsequent cards haven't, and this was before the BB&T murger with Suntrust into Truist.

       @vwestlife I have a Chase credit card that's like that. It's made of a thick heavy-duty plastic, and has all the info, on the back (I covered the latter w/ electrical tape).
