My review on GNU/Linux of the drawing tablet XPpen Artist 12 3rd is now published! It's a clever little display drawing tablet and relatively cheap, I’m truly loving it! @davidrevoy Great, just one information missing (in your article, and more problematically on manufacturer website), what is the screen resolution? (because it could be 1024x800, and with 12" diagonal, it's a bit hard to work with when you want to learn and heavily rely on the tablet display.

@davidrylander Hey, so for left handed, simply rotating the device to 180° works, and on KDE plasma, you can in the drawing tablet setting apply an "inverted landscape" mapping, and also rotate in monitor the monitor 180°.The two things "meh" in this mode will be:1. The XPpen logo inverted and on top (workaroundable with a sticker)2. The "top magnet" to hold the stylus will be at bottom, less easier to use while on the stand.The angled cable can be easily inverted (USB-C tip) if necessary

@ulfi @davidrylander That could be a convenient UI touch, especially if the device is shared between family members and need a quick switch; but all the System Setting drawing tablet interface, the buttons layout are totally independent of the mapping of the cursor/stylus panel. Well, one can easily map the button 8 to be a button 1, etc... On my WIP driver, button 9 and 10 and 11 and 12 are for the wheel :) (that's why it's WIP, it works, but not super semantically correct and not merged yet)

@davidrevoy Just a heads up, the Promo Code seems to give an error "CONFLICTING_COUPON_CODE" on the XP-Pen's Canadian store. I was wondering if it's because the total cost is just on the borderline of the minimum 159 €, but it keeps giving the same error even with more stuff in the cart.I put a note on the order details about the code, hopefully they'll honor it on your end.

@erisreg If you apply the BPF driver, yes, the buttons are programmable (and D.E. with a tablet setting might expose that to the user: so far on Wayland only GNOME and Plasma). Once the buttons are set, yes, they'll work in Krita, as if the commands came from a keyboard.If you don't apply the driver, or can't, the device will have an hardcoded shortcut layout. The listing is on the companion blog post. You can still reassign this shortcut inside Krita to do something else.
