       @gamingonlinux “more than 90% of you won’t have to confirm your age.”I get why they say this but every time I see anything like this, it drives me crazy. Because at the end of the day, the companies and the governments only care about the level of the outcry. Imagine if they had said “more than 90% of you don’t need wheelchair ramps”. Is the percentage of people that have to deal with onerous steps to prove their age the way that we should be judging whether or not this is acceptable?At least, in this case, Discord is not something that anyone has to have and we can quit. But I would hope that someone would speak up for the 10% that potentially have issues with this.And yes, I get that discord is stuck dealing with the governments, but these tech companies are the ones who pushed age verification in the first place so they should have to deal with the consequences more than anyone else including that 10%.
