       Today's "AI" uh-oh: I was inquiring with two chatbots (Claude and Gemini) about best techniques -- to the extent possible -- for removing data from an SSD I plan to sell. Both of them suggested command line (Linux) scripts that would have erased my main laptop drive. Oh sure I trust this stuff...

       @dangillmor But, did you tell it the location of the SSD in your prompt?I find asking an LLM a question without being *very *specific is dangerous. Trusting the answer, without verification, is something nobody should do (your example is perfect).But, hey, you have backups of your main drive, right?#TrustIssues
