       @mischievoustomato I cared about what I was doing for maybe my first two tech jobs, until I realized it was either a bunch of unambitious people just there for a paycheck and they all stood between me and being in charge (and would take credit for my hard work if it worked out) OR it was overbearing bosses who don't understand time frames or what anyone actually does at their place. And BOTH of those were being done for someone else's benefit, and long before that I had rationalized that it was my life energy and time for their money.tl;dr version: Yeah, I absolutely wouldn't give two shits. If you let AI write anything other than a script or two inside another larger project, there's literally no point in TRYING to read the shit. You genuinely will be an unneeded bottleneck in the process. Now, you DO have to refine your AI process in that case. You need AI code reviews guided by human questions and it's good to have an idea of the shape of the project, but yeah. If that is what the boss wants, who cares? Refine your AI's process and tell the boss how great you are for doing basically nothing. Your time for their money.Also, real life anecdote: Every time I started a new job, I basically told them "listen, it's going to take me 2 to 3 weeks to learn all your codebase and longer to know all its quirks. Early work will be slow until I understand everything. And this was often a point of contention with bosses. "Our old guy who left was cranking out a thing a week." Yeah, he'd been here for 5 years. I don't know the codebase.

       @snapplo yeah, exactly. For me the code i'd write at a job is just well, chore stuff. It's to solve someone else's problems. Maybe I could identify myself with it, but I'm not gonna build the Next Big Thing, I'm just a little niggacog in the machine.

       @mischievoustomato Sounds like a (You) issue. If the AI does everything, why not just slack off?12 hours of doing "nothing" is hard to believe.

       @TheTeka @mischievoustomato it's not nothing, it's meetings where you tell people nothing was done since the last meeting every day and it gets really tiresome
