       @pomagarnet well, that puts me into a somewhat peculiar position, because unless the API docs are really well written, my first instinct is to mess around with it. And I often get the desired result faster than I’d do with the docs. idk what to think of myself, honestlyreverse engineering is structured messing around. you try something, then write down your result, rinse and repeat 1000 times before you have a vague idea of how things work

       @pomagarnet but also i hope your takeaway isn’t to “never read docs” bc you won’t make much progress on reversing by going in fully blind either. “blackbox” (god, such a stupid name) tests SUCK, don’t make yourself suffer through them if you can find stuff about the subject

       @pomagarnet the one good thing that came out of this craze is that if you tell me i’m doing something with “the wrong tools” i will just laugh right into your facei have learnt that mine “i have no clue what the fuck i’m doing” is often a few levels above those people’s “use of efficient tools”
