It's spoilers for the end of the Scarlet Arc of Fantasy Maiden Wars (which I guess doesn't matter since it's easy to predict what the ending is), but man do I love pulling off properly dramatic finishes. This fight and the following ending sequence took so long my Steam background recording doesn't even cover the full thing. As of end of arc, the current secret bonus count is 1. That bonus is going to take a while to actually show up though, as will the rest whenever they show up. :flan_yea: I do have the flow chart open for these because frankly some of the secret bonuses are a little silly to get otherwise. It only lists bonuses though, gameplay on all other fronts is purely my decisions, often ending up poorly and leading to a load from a previous turn.

Yes, that's still $25, but the game isn't exactly asking that price for no reason. It is long and that length is pretty much all meaningful content, no fluff nor grinding here. Bare minimum two playthroughs and a few side stories just to see all that the game has to offer. It also has a demo so you can try the game out before buying. The OST is really good too though I don't know if it's another $25 good, even if I do understand the price point. 13 discs. According to the store page, a total of 234 tracks across all four arcs and all the extra content. A lot of music, arranged by a few people.

@grooms I wish I had taken a screenshot of her followup dialogue where Youmu thinks Patchy is joking and Patchy assures her that no, she actually does not remember where the kitchen is. :cirno_heh: Marisa finds it anyway (and a certain other thing that may be the reason everything starts kicking into high gear, oops), it's all good.

@SuperSnekFriend @grooms It is the more accurate to ZUN's viewpoint Patchouli. :thonk: As far as official works are concerned Patchy is the kind of person to forego her health or any meaningless tasks, like eating, in favor of diving deep into all of her magical research. If it weren't for the malleability of the series and the extreme crust of ZUN's artwork in a 2002 game, people might've actually associated her with such a body. Instead of that though the popular view is that she wears stripes and has a body ranging from big to gigantic.

That is, if you're willing to look through 24 years of artwork. :cirno_heh: Benefit of EoSD being not only the most popular but also the oldest Windows title that led to many other official appearances for the cast. Tons of artwork of all kinds. Modest breasts with a more slim body is pretty standard a thing to draw overall. Sadly that also works in the opposite direction, as characters from practically every other game and work can get majorly shafted by every artist. Even just getting depictions, let alone varied depictions, can be difficult. Part of why I kinda consider EoSD a little bit of a basic taste. It's not a bad game, but it's objectively got the most everything. Most fans, most players, most art. If you're going to know any two things about Touhou even without actually bothering to look it up, one would be Bad Apple!! and the other would be something from EoSD.

Things look like they'll snap right off her body. I really hate this idea of a person I love turning into a freakish husk out of anorexia and don't want to hear or see it again.While taking a shower and shaving, I realized what else bothered me about this "Anorexic Patchy is the real Patchy" non-sense. It makes no sense by in-universe logic or logic of beings not bound by the physics of our world. The whole reason anorexic nervosa sufferers turn into skeletons with a sack of skin over them is because their bodies are literally eating themselves to death, destroying healthy and necessary lipid cells and stealing carbs from connective and muscular tissue to sustain constant metabolism for the more critical organs. But the whole point of magical immortality is that the person transforms into a full spirit or some hybrid who no longer requires regular metabolism of cells for their bodies to survive. If he has a body, a magically immortal person's body won't behave like terrestrial, mortal human's. Most often, those immortal bodies will simply default to an ideal state, only changing because of magic or some other spiritual process. Women like Patchy, Alice, and Mokou are being "fed" by their magic.It's like how people will annoyingly apply too much animal physiology and anatomy to monster girls who cannot possibly act the way people claim they will, especially when many mamono anatomies are simply impossible to function in this world.I will grant you this. Patchouli's default form is officially petite and flat-ish, going by the official works. But one thing she is not is a disturbing skeleton like women who debase themselves with self-starvation.

It's mostly in jest (I rarely post the truly super skinny Patchy for a reason, it doesn't look right). Mokou is a true immortal, which means her soul is immortal, not her body. Her body could be subjected to genuinely anything, and she'd be back to her standard state in under 10 minutes after dying. She is the only one who is actually going to always return to that utterly ideal state no matter what happens. Magicians however are "immortal" in the sense of not aging and being quite durable. They also do not need to eat, that's one of the major spells required to become a magician and the one Marisa refuses to learn. The reason Patchouli is so weak in official works is because of the reason most standard magicians are frail, she works with deadly ingredients to make magic. To that end, Patchy's body can also be affected by things in permanent ways. Anorexia is off the table (what's the point of learning the damn spell if it doesn't do anything) but she could still end up over-eating or some such. The spiritual body is mixed with a physical one and, outside of gods that normally lack a physical body, there's really no good way for anyone to hold full control over the body's appearance. This applies to everyone really who isn't a Hourai Immortal from drinking the elixir. That's why Gensoyko exists, to preserve the girls as best as possible. Change still happens though, it's unavoidable.

Remilia is extremely durable and could likely regenerate her whole body. Within this case though, her body could experience death through more spiritual attacks in which her soul would not have any special interactions, at that point she would go into the fitting respective afterlife. This is more in line with what you are talking about.Mokou, and the other Hourai Immortals, are a direct denial of this process. Her soul is immortal in the sense that her entire existence rejects ever finding peace in any afterlife. I use her soul for the phrasing because her literal soul holds the elixir within it to regenerate the body from. This is pretty explicitly why the Hourai Elixir is a sin across the board. Nothing could kill her, and nothing could ever stop her body from regenerating. The universe could collapse and she'd still be there, no afterlife and no peace. That's the price of the elixir.

It is a phrase used to talk about the fantasy concept of immortality, not the religious concept. This isn’t even a ZUN seeing things differently within religious concepts issue, it’s just one of different terminology for the same word.
