       this is also why GenAI art looks the way it does.  the user has to supply the insight, and if the user has insight they might as well just do it themselves.so we see GenAI largely being used by people lacking insight

       this is also why we sometimes see people with insight using GenAI and getting good results.  they have the missing piece of the formula.unfortunately, due to confirmation bias they tend to think their good result is the median, when it very much isn't.unfunny memes where the meme is explained in excruciating detail because the user doesn't understand artistic restraint is the median.same with code.

       @ariadne That's also why llms make commentslop, as I have so hatingly coined, where it just explains what the code does instead of why it does it.        @ariadne It's a thing the frontier labs are trying to crack now, calling it "taste". What it really should be called is "craft". Any kind of tradecraft requires years working with the tools, gathering data on what works and what doesn't. Eventually, it becomes personal, and other people are attracted to the personal.

       @ariadne I have observed enough of the results you describe from the usage of GenAI without insight that I agree with you that a dynamic exists and is prevalent in which people without such insight use these systems and attain poor results (which they may believe are good).As someone with both insight into GenAI and many years of engineering experience, I also believe that this has removed much of the tedium from doing things in my case and maybe for people like me generally.
