       ppl who still unironically say that "digimon is better than pokemon" need to learn to specify that they're referring to the anime of each. and even then it's apples vs oranges bc each anime has a different audience

       like would i rather watch the digimon anime? yes 100%, it’s still among my favorite anime to this day and that will never change. whereas the pokemon anime is mostly a fun nostalgia thing that i have no real desire to revisit in fullbut the thing is, the pokemon anime is for very young kids. of course it’ll be “childish” at times, it fits the audience. whereas classic digimon was aimed at older kids already, and modern digimon is actually mostly aimed at teenagers even. they are so, so different that they’re hard to compare. beyblade for example is much, much more similar to pokemon than digimon is, even moreso when you know about its originsalso the digimon video games are hit or miss. there are some good ones, but also a lot of crapand what about pokemon coliseum and xd? or the pokemon adventures manga? the latter doesn’t do under for digimon tamers.
