       @mangeurdenuage i think part of the hell is in dating/sex spaces everyone is hyperexclusive to begin with and everyone wants to run all the NT duplicity games on overdrive.it seems to be incredibly common autisms get given non-answer rejections and were just supposed to know which rejections were real or fake and asking people to give direct 'hard nos' makes you look like some kind of intolerable freak.formal etiquette guides are even in direct disagreement with neurotrash about this: rejections should be plain and final, not cagey, not offering excuses (because "no my house is on fire" is actually semantically coding that the no is predicated on something which could be resolved, when what you actually meant was "no, never")
