       @knud @jon actually Germany does have trains! They can have trains thanks to this one weird trick: tell people where their carriage is, and then when the train arrives put this carriage in the opposite end of the train so that they'll be running along the platform like headless chicken

       @swaldman @annehargreaves @knud @jon at least in ICE it's kinda easy to get your mammoth suitcase across the train (unless it's packed, or unless it's coupled and you happen to be in the wrong half)

       @IngaLovinde @jon Sorry, that's literally a thing of the past. All stations as well as the app have real-time displays of carriage order, there is no "wrong" carriage order anymore, since no printed plans exist anymore.This is really the single one major German train improvement of the past decade.

       @IngaLovinde @jon I have personally not experienced a single case of ICEs, REs, or even S-Bahns to have the wrong order in the system. Ever.So maybe you have experienced this differently, but if you have, this will be absolutely rare and doesn't lend itself to bashing DB. There's a lot of other things to choose from, IMHO this isn't one of them.

       @knud @jon I experienced the opposite car composition with ICE more than half the time (including in the last years).Which is more often than can be expected if the display boards displayed the direction of the car composition randomly (with a flip coin) each time.
