       Male violence is so commonplace that it's practically background noise to everyone at this point. Female violence is so uncommon that when it does happen it's a spectacle.

       @brendamccann I am very disturbed by the idea that we should actively support some who kill their children, male or feamle. Those who do deserve a defence in court (as do we all) but not special treatment. If their defence involves mitigating circumstances then these should be dealt with as part of the defence and sentencing. If judges are applying the law unequally then the problem lies with the judges and should be addressed.

       @KeepTakingTheSoma I do not support Lindsay or what she did. Very few people actually do. What people are saying is that if women's health issues especially after they give birth weren't ignored then the kids would still be alive. Lindsay was struggling, her parents said it and her husband's parents said it. Her husband went on a ski trip while she was suffering in the hospital. She called 911 asking for help more than 50 times in the 2 weeks preceding the murder. She expressed concern about voices telling her to harm her children and her psychiatrists responded by putting her on several different drugs that only exacerbated the problem. No woman is supporting her simply because she is a woman. So many women have also been ignored while experiencing PPD or PPP and there is no recognized treatment because THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT WOMEN. Motherhood takes a huge toll on physical and mental health and instead of getting support mothers who experience it are told to suck it up, you should be feeling fulfilled and happy, you don't want people to think you're a BAD MOTHER do you? Granted most women experiencing PPD don't actually harm their kids but this is an extreme and unusual case, nothing less extreme was going to get people to talk about this very real issue because it is ignored to such an extreme degree. She should have gotten a NGRI verdict, which contrary to popular belief would not have allowed her to walk free (she can't even walk). She would have to spend most of if not the entire rest of her life in a state mental institution. And if she were a man she could have gotten that verdict in no time at all. The man who killed Iryna Zarutska did and there was no outcry over that!

       @brendamccann @KeepTakingTheSoma I wanna know how happy the husband is, now he's free of a wife and bunch of kids. Lindsay killing her kids, followed by a suicide attempt, could've easily have been prevented. Mainly by the husband going to his in-laws and own parents and going "here are the kids".
