how is he not wrong? This is a whataboutism. It isn't my job to pay higher prices to fulfill his bullshit agenda. His rationalization for why it is important is Iran getting a nuke, which was literally never going to happen anyway. The Ayatollah explicitly stated they never would. The US is on the verge of monetary collapse because of excess spending. The only thing that allows the US to spend the way it does is the petrodollar. The only way we maintain the petrodollar is through force or the threat of force. Stealing Venezuela was an extension of this. We need to control the oil market to force people to continue to buy our dollars, so that they can give us those dollars back in exchange for oil. Bribing and blackmailing the other ME states was an extension of this. Steal Iran's oil is also an extension of this. We need to keep as much oil from China as possible.
