       @implr @gorplop @ol0ck @q3k It works okay but it's too Slackware-like for me, plus I've got a lot of stuff in Gentoo I'd like to grab with me, so I'll probably add full-blown illumos support into Gentoo (right now Gentoo Prefix works, so can mix both, but mixing two systems isn't great).Also I don't think I would base on anything Oxide if you want to avoid LLM taint.

       @mcsinyx Yeah but the consensus part of Guix only applies for org processes not code, right?(Also illumos distros so far all seem to have own branch or small patchset to effectively test things out on their side, which also means less needs to force things in the main repo)

       @mcsinyx Yeah, quite expected of a distro, package updates are frequent after all.While illumos contains kernel, libc, plus some illumos-specific utilities. Which for a rather small and scoped system doesn't seems too active to monitor, unlike linux kernel which is everything and the kitchen sink (including experiments, which if it would be illumos-paced could easily go downstream instead).And unlike BSDs, third-party software is via packaging, which is managed by illumos distros rather than illumos itself.

       @mcsinyx Might need to check that it won't cause licensing issues for that though, illumos is under the CDDL which is infamously incompatible with the GPL.
