This does seem comically easy to compute now, especially if you have fast div/fast mul. (You can make the denominator side 2 to convert one flop to a bitshift, but to generate each reference triangle for an angle might be a problem.) If you're implementing an interpreter or something. Is linear interpolation on lookup tables actually inefficient?
