       @newman There are a lot of people in NC who have converted their garage to a hang out place.  They hang bug screens and pop open the door.It's more sociable than the backyard because you can still see neighbors passing and wave, but far enough from the street that no one feels obligated to stop and talk.Some garages are furnished as man caves, and all the guys go there to watch the game, with the garage door open to invite others.

       @obihahn @newman In the driveway or on the street, if the street isn't too narrow.One guy had his garage set up so he could convert it from man cave to parking space very quickly.  Probably for the wife's car.
