       I've just learned that it's a thing in some elementary schools to coax the kids into donating their supplies (that their parents almost certainly bought for them) to a bin, after which they're randomly redistributed equally to the students, so that kids whose parents can't afford much supplies get more.Now, I'm all for setting up a system where underprivileged kids get the resources they need, but taking away from privileged kids without their consent to achieve that is terrible. Set up a fundraiser for it, you can hardly go a year in school without one of those going on.Also some parents personalize their kids' supplies, which is not something I can relate to, but I can totally see why.
