       Smaller codebase, faster, refuses connections if unencrypted/incorrect key rather than answering a knock at the door, so no port enumeration.

       Actually it turns out my go to VPN Mullvad already uses Wireguard protocol by default so I didn't have to do anything.

       Most VPNs will implement Wireguard because it's bussin and lightning fast.

       I should say it doesn't "refuse" connections as much as it drops them outright. The setup is also very simple, and you can easily turn anything into a virtual appliance with it. The peering mental model is a bit of a learning curve, and it's not VLAN aware, but for simple switching and secure connectivity over WAN, it's pretty hard to beat.
