@coolboymew i think, check news occasionally, avoid otherwise. don't dwell on it for too long and live your day to day life. most of what people freaking out about literally never affects them. the big problem is everybodys addicted to social media nowadays, and social media nowadays (sadly even fedi in recent years ;;) has turned into a tribal political battleground and constantly dooming and anger about it, and like, if you see something that sets you off ONCE daily, that's already too much you should not be angry every day that's ridiculously bad for you, but people keep scrolling through social media and getting pissed off MANY times a day, it's so sad to see. the people agonizing about political shit and being so depressed and hopeless about it, it's almost always social media addiction, i've seen so much improvements just by encouraging people to not use it for a while
