@theorytoe unironically gentoo, though it might not be for everyone>bare metalany distro you're comfortable with will do, so long as it can do docker cant be worried about a distro lacking certain packages when your software is in a container made of the distro it actually likes

my favorite thing about ubuntu snaps is how long they take to upgrade and how they have little quirks that are near impossible to diagnose and fixing them requires unsandboxing which defeats the purpose of having them and then some packages just directing to a snap install and also the nagging every 20 mins when you leave the application open for more than an hourhello windows update methodology let me just rape myself to death thanks that would be preferablejust take the biggest horse carrot and a hammer and smack that fucker right in my urethra

Arch's pacman does not guarantee (or at least, this used to be the case last I used it) dynamic library dependencies. It is entirely possible that some library that PostgreSQL depends on gets yanked out from under it during an upgrade. And Postgres depends on quite a bunch of stuff.Though, this is still much better than database corruption. But any how, you probably don't want Arch on your servers.

@phnt @theorytoe @tyler @Idoru i mean, i had pacman kill itself once. libicu was updated but pacman itself wasn't, resulting in a broken system.Did I mention Arch mirrors aren't updated atomically? If you run `pacman -Syu` while the mirror is updated, you can totally into this kind of trouble too.
