       Well shit. It's not even noon EST and I'm drunk again. Finding an AA meeting in a town of 1400 people is impossible. Sitting through an AA meeting with people crying about their fuckups without a drink in your hand is even harder.

       Getting drunk without making excuses to do so is actually what you're currently struggling with.  Stop making excuses.  Stop justifying your drunkenness.  That's what it takes.  AA isn't what you need, you need God and conviction.  AA might help.  You might need detox, idk your habits (I needed detox because otherwise I'd probably have died).  At the end of the day it takes you not wanting to drink anymore, everything else is just getting in your way.

       AA just swaps one addiction for another, so just do the same, but with something actually productive.

       If a person is prone to addiction, I think it's actually folly to avoid that trait. Instead, embrace it and apply it towards some pursuit. People with addictive personalities are capable of excelling if they apply themselves because they do things to excess.
