@Miaourt I don't D: My gameplan so far is to call a shop on Tuesday in town that might have the ability to run tests I can't / let me put a cheap graphics card in it to run some stress tests on / let me put a different PSU on it to run the same tests, etc. If they can't, I'm going to try and get the cheapest card I can find to test

@Miredly nice plan!Is there some Amazon on ya island where you can order a cheap gpu and return it in the return window for free hehe ?Also with the info you provided on the other post, is the GPU new or something ? Spike in power usage did put some weakass PSU in failure (green corsair one) even tho the whole system was well under the 600w limit, but it would be weird if you had the GPU for long already (tho, maybe some driver or new game might trigger other part of the GPU silicon leading to new, harder power spikes ?)

@Miaourt That's an optionnnnn but I think if I get one cheap I'll either keep it for future testing or give it to someone who can use it within my circle!The GPU isn't new! it's a 3070ti that was expensed for me by a client back in 2021-ish. When I was having this problem before, I field stripped the entire machine and found a literal bug (like a little gnat corpse or something) between two pads on the motherboard next to the pcie slot, and then the problem went away for a while. It seems like the problem comes back anytime I go a week or two without using the machine. The PSU is an 80+ platinum corsair sfx 750, same age as the card. This problem has been so weirdly inconsistent and therefore difficult to diagnose, but I'm 99.9% sure it's not a heat related issue at this point.

@Miredly uhhh that rough, ya bug's bug might also open to a motherboard problem I guess??Well, last question is can you reliably reproduce it with some kind of benchmark software maybe ? furmark or occt ?

@Miaourt I've been trying all weekend with OCCT- the 3D adaptive variable test was the only one it would regularly fail while doing, though it did fail at a steady 100% while I was tweaking the voltage settings in the nvidia app- though there's no direct "run test and it fails predictably" moment. It just fails after a while.So far after setting GPU voltage limit to 80%, it ran half an hour of the sustained 100% GPU load test and I'm 20 minutes in to a 25-100% alternating test and it hasn't crashed yet.Been doing my best to keep an eye on the relevant metrics but haven't spotted any weird patterns.

@Miredly oh that's nice, well, like you guessed, it will be hard to know if it's the gpu or the psu if undervolting did the trick...

@Miaourt Well ok, undervolting didn't fix it at all, it shutdown after 20 minutes of variable load stress testing and then again while totally idle and undervolted.I guess I... start by replacing the power supply?
