       Every time I try to give AI a genuine try, I immediately get confused as to what the hell people are doing automating their jobs with it.Like did everyone have a genuinely less real job than my already fake job?

       @nagaram how can you call yourself pagan (where nature is important) and follow me (so you are clearly informed about all the multitude of not just ways but independent dimensions in which “AI” is catastrophic to us), yet give it multiple “genuine” tries?smh

       @mirabilosHonest answer, me in a different life was someone who was a tech optimist.My roommates and best friends in college we're all CS folks with serious interest in ML and LLMs. It was just cool math to us.And it still is, at its core cool math to me. Its just everything else that's the problem (which is a massive problem).On top of that weird history, I'm an IT professional. At the moment there's almost no shot in hell of avoiding AI. Its either in every aspect of my software stack or I have to support some asshole in customer service trying to vibe code a policy violation.I'm one of the guys in charge of the corpo Claude tenant and I assign access and tokens as approved by our CIO.So, every once in a while I try to seriously use Claude to help with stuff or use it like the end users use it. Its how we found out Anthropic was pushing their fucking app to talk people into turning on agentic mode. We had to disable the Claude app from running.

       @nagaram I’m rather outspoken against. OK, lost me one job, and it was a PITA trying to find another, but looking at where the company is now, and considering the coming recession, it is better so.

       @mirabilosI get that. Place I'm working at is pretty soul sucking.But they're paying for my degree, not know or not caring its not tech related and I'm trying to go back to library work.Hopefully you're doing better be it financially or mentally. Those are really the options anymore
