       @ariadne Yes. I recommend going to the top if you can and check the weather beforehand. The view is unmatched and it’s a bucket list thing. I even found the lifts from the base to the first level interesting.

       @ariadne From a Parisian: if you've never done it, sure, do it. Do it while you're in good physical shape and can stand in line in a crowd for hours. It's a really nice view, the problem is the time it takes getting there.About La Défense: you can't access the top of the ark anymore, it's closed to the public, but the plaza itself is worth visiting, and even there you can see the nice alignment to the Arc de Triomphe. Easier to get to than the Eiffel Tower.

       @ariadne If you are there you should definitely go up there. Why would you choose to skip out on that experience?I wouldn't necessarily travel there just to go up there, but if I'm in the area anyway it for sure would be one of the things I'd check out...

       @ariadne @mini_ninja_64 They do timed tickets online so you don’t have to wait in a long line. You just turn up at the lifts at your assigned time. I get that crowds of tourists aren’t great.        @ariadne Yes and no.There is no other view of Paris like it and if you're anything like me you could lose hours just looking at the elevators. The first level is pretty cool, but you want to go to the top and so does everyone else.Queues are very annoying, obviously, but I believe we went there first thing in the morning and they weren't that bad.When we were there (many years ago) there was a tourist deal available that included a couple of museum visits, entry to the Eiffel Tower, a week of metro transit and a river cruise to see it at night. If that's still a thing, I'd recommend doing that, particularly the river cruise.
