       There is this red stray cat that’s been hanging around our house, super skinny, some wounds, dirty etcI’ve been trying to feed him to get acknowledged with us since he’s scared of almost everything it seems and today it worked!At some point he even ate from my hand so it’s a startGeorge and Washy don’t really like him so taking him in is not really an option I guess but I need to do something..Gonna try and feed him daily now and maybe take him to the vet at some point, just in case

       @stux get it a box lined with some wool (old scrappy sweaters) as a place to rest. Possibly under a roof or canopy, and elevated from the floor.It might surprise you.

       @stux Hello, Ball, nice to meet you. * Feeding strays may not be allowed, but I think it's a different situation if your intention is only to establish trust and get him to a veterinarian.        @stux @fiend4coffee There are people near me who "adopt" strays, but don't actually take them in or, it seems, even get them to a vet. But they put out bowls of food, even build houses, and the result is scruffy looking feral cats running around killing songbirds and breeding more feral cats. Definitely unacceptable! Yet most get away with it. Some of these cathouses are in or near parks, so even more danger to birds. But what you're doing? I approve.

       @Karen5Lund @fiend4coffee I’m not sure about the law but it’s the ‘park rules’ here, since the dude who’s managing it keeps setting up cages to catch the cats..He doesn’t do anything about the pest issue but cats he does catch He can’t tell me what to do lol

       @stuxIn my area, there is a rescue group that provides a trap, then pays for all vet services if you transport. My husband volunteers  with them. The cats are released back in the same area, but healthier, with shots, and fixed. Might see if there's any group like that near you?

       @stux he looks adorable! Had to tell myself no quite hard there. I have adopted strays myself who were *very* disliked by the reigning tails of the house initially. They eventually found a way to make it work, but it can be tough

       @stux Zijn je eigen katten goed geënt? Of komen die nooit buiten? Je kunt 'm denk ik toch het beste naar het dierenasiel in je regio brengen; dan krijgt ie medische check+zorg en zoeken ze een goed huis voor hem

       @stux Would in a heartbeat, but we don't have a cat-friendly home at the moment. :(He'd probably go insane in our apartment given he's used to being outside.
