I'm going to continue this thread, because the hate towards me has continued in private and now across other social media too.On my now deleted personal account, I shared a half-baked random thought about generative AI possibly having a use to help with busy-work programming. It was a random thought that popped into my head.People jumped on it, then more jumped on it, now I'm receiving targeted harassment. You all fucking suck.

This isn't an Engagement Platform, so getting dogpiled for a stupid reason is stupid.You and your site have been the best Linux gaming news source, and I've been a fan since the beginning.People's hearts are breaking over the use of LLMs in Linux and Debian, even if it's throwing the baby out with the bathwater. I agree with that hate, but it means LLMs are cursed until the bubble pops. Fuck those that would attack you personally, tho. You do not deserve that. 😞

@gamingonlinux especially on Mastodon the anti genAI crowd seems to be rabid. I once made an argument about unenforcability of non AI clauses and was promptly compared to a rapist. Even though I explicitly said that I didn't even commit any code.

@gamingonlinux I'm a massive generative ai hater but even I realize the issues are who owns it and the power usage, not the actual tech. If tech can work for us, that is fine. ML has been a thing for over 20 years. Its the abuse of it and the blatant grift we hate.

Fedi can be just as toxic as any other platform.I've come to realize at times that Fedi boils my blood just as much as Twitter did, but instead of being angry at obvious right-wing ragebait and 'haha liberals / dems suck', I'm angry at people that lack nuanced takes and are on either side of the discourse.Fuck the pro-AI sloppers (more specifically the corpo bootlickers that use LLM without a care for quality or review, obvious slop and vibe-coded bullshit, hypebros that think AI is the best thing ever and we're entering some new era, or that AI helps us get closer to actual artificial intelligence, digital consciousness, etc.), and fuck the anti-AI extremists (more specifically the anti-AI people that shun you out of existence and call you a neo-nazi, a fascist or a plain ol' corpo bootlicker because to some very minimal, personal, and subjective extent, genAI might make your life just a tad bit easier, regardless if it's cloud or local, regardless if it's a corpo model such as Claude, ChatGPT, or more 'open' models).
